What it is and what it's for

A lowboy trailer is a specialised platform for hauling construction machines. Its low deck and ramps let a heavy, tall excavator, loader or roller drive aboard without breaking the legal height of the rig on the road.

Sizing is simple: the axle count has to match the weight of the machines you carry, because that sets your legal axle loads and whether you pass the weighbridge at all.
