A wheeled excavator drives on roads under its own power, so it suits urban, utility and road jobs where the machine moves around a lot. Over short hops it needs no trailer, which genuinely cuts running costs.

On a wheeled unit, the usual money pits are the slew hydraulics and the condition of the outriggers and dozer blade — without those you cannot dig steadily. We take Liebherr and Caterpillar with a clear service record from Germany, and cheaper units from China. Import is easiest to price with transport and duty included, so give us a budget and we will work out the rest.
